Better Than We Deserve

For families with kids of all ages PRAYER THOUGHT God accepts and loves us even though we have done wrong things. We often take this love and acceptance for granted, even though it cost Jesus his life. When we take God's forgiveness for granted, we forget to be grateful, and we forget to forgive others. READ ALOUD Romans 3:23-24  "All of us have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. But God treats us much better than we deserve, and because of Christ Jesus, he freely accepts us and sets us free from our sins." BRAINSTORM Create two lists: Ways God has shown kindness and love to you as a family during the past week (think of all the good things you can); The times during this week when your family has said or shown your thanks to God. PRAY God, please forgive us for forgetting the love and kindness you show toward us. We are thankful that you took the punishment for the wrong things we have done. We can be the people you want us to be because of your love and forgiveness. In Jesus' name. Amen
