Family Time Sign

For families with kids of all ages Do you ever feel like your family is going in so many directions at once that you need to put up a sign to get their attention? If so, put one up! As a family, make a sign that anyone can use to announce that they think it's time for family time. Materials     • Large sheet of paper or posterboard     • Markers     • Laminating Playful Problem Solver Activity 1.  Say to your family something like, "We need a way that any one of us can announce a need for "Family Time"—a time we are all together, whether to solve a problem or just hang out together. So we're going to make a sign that anyone can hang on the refrigerator or wall to announce that it's time to make time to be together." 2.  Make the sign together. Make it creative. Everyone should have fun contributing to its creation. Use sprinkles and glitter liberally. It can say, "Family Time Tonight!" or "Family Time at 7 o'clock Tonight!" Or the sign can be a wordless design that nevertheless communicates to your family the need for a family meeting that night. 3.  If you can, have the sign laminated (at an educational supplies store, office supply store, or photocopying business). 4.  Store the sign in a convenient place so that anyone can hang it on the refrigerator when they feel the need for family time.
